FAQ
Soreze Gel
What are bed sores and its consequence?
Bedsores or pressure sores are ulcers that happen on areas of skin that are under pressure for a long time. Commonly found in people who are bedridden, immobile for long, unconscious, or unable to sense pain. Constant pressure on a particular part of the skin like the buttocks, back, the heel of the feet, shoulder blades, back of the head, sides of the knees, and others, leads to pressure injuries also called decubitus ulcers. Reduction in blood supply for hours together in the skin and underlying tissues will result in the death of the skin, followed by painful red spots that eventually turn purple. Such soreness of skin when left untreated will result in infections and can take months or years to heal.

What does Soreze contain?
Soreze is a skin-protectant, soothing silicone gel made of silicone elastomers, polysiloxanes, starch, and silicates made using patented ‘EPB (Elastomer Potentiated Barrier)’ technology.
How does Soreze help in prevention of Bed Sores?
Soreze forms a protective thin film of silicone within 30 seconds of its application on pressure-prone areas. This film reduces friction on the skin and acts as a barrier between skin folds or between skin and clothing or bedding thus preventing bedsores. The friction-reducing property of Soreze helps protects the skin while repositioning the patient which is an important aspect of bedsore prevention. Further, the thin film formed by Soreze is long-lasting, non-allergenic, water-repellent, and breathable. Soreze not only makes skin smooth but also works well in the presence of water, sweat, or moisture.

No, Soreze is not a treatment for Bed Sores it helps in prevention. However, Soreze can be used in case of redness, irritation, pain, discomfort, or itch skin as long as the skin is intact. Do not apply on open skin or open or oozing wounds. Please consult your doctor if redness or rashes persist for more than 7 days or if wounds have formed.
How is Soreze different from air mattress or water beds?
Bed sores are caused by a combination of pressure, friction, and shear. Water mattresses or air beds work on pressure redistribution or pressure reduction while Soreze works by reducing friction. Both complement each other’s actions. Soreze protects skin from friction and shear while repositioning which is an important aspect of bedsore prevention or bed sore treatment.
Will Soreze replace the need for air mattress or water beds?
No, the patient will still need an air mattress or water bed, or any other pressure-releasing device because Soreze works on reducing friction and not on pressure redistribution or reduction. Soreze complements the action of any pressure-releasing device and has to be used along with such devices.
